NZ, Feb 2012: Some images shot on the streets of Wellington back in February…
These are part of a series I’m going to call “twenty dollar camera”- because, you guessed it- they were made on a camera I purchased for around $20 or less.
The camera in question is a Ricoh R1. It’s light, low profile and has a nice sharp 30mm lens. They would have cost a packet when they first came out.
I’ve also adapted the 24mm panoramic lens to shoot “full-frame” which results in a nice, natural in built vignette.
These pictures are literally right off the film with no image manipulation. Film used was Kodak Tri-X (400 iso) hand developed in Ilford LC29.
