Seafarer

Wellington, NZ, yesterday: Last night I did something I haven’t done for years- go fishing! We went out on the Seafarer II, with owner/skipper Jono Delich at the helm, Bronwyn first mate, and 19 punters hoping to catch the big one. They weren’t biting, but the wind was- this is Wellington after all- “windy city”. We kept close to the western shore of the harbour protected by the hills- but the fish weren’t interested in our bait- except for the lucky anglers up front at the bow. We moved to another spot where I eventually got one- and later another- Jono almost doing a manoverboard- losing his footing in trying to retrieve it . It was a great evening out, the video only showing the “getting to”- it’s kind of tricky holding a fishing rod and a camera at the same time…
