Station

Dublin, Ireland, 2003:  Commuters awaiting a train at Pearse St station in Dublin. This is one of the many reasons I love the Olympus XA2-  being able to take sneaky shots in difficult light, yet still get well exposed & sharp images. This is straight off the scan- no edits…   Olympus XA2/Kodak Tri-X

KPL

Dublin, Ireland, 2004: During the demonstrations of Mayday 2004 (see previous) I caught this image of a rather defiant couple. They acted completely oblivious to what was going on behind their backs… 10 minutes later the police charged- I got away but very much doubt they did… Canon EOS5/28-105/Tri-X

Mogwai

Dublin, Ireland, 2003:  Grabbed a few shots of Scottish post-rock icons Mogwai at the Olympia theatre in Dublin.  They were promoting their new album “Happy Songs for Happy People”,  a rather ironic subdued affair.  It was a very intense/loud/exellent gig, and just when they were about to start their finale I was confronted by security… […]

Kingdom Come again…

Wellington, New Zealand, 2010:  More images from the doomed (and now axed) set of the epic Jesus film “Kingdom Come“.  Although the plot for the proposed film sounded dubious at best, the set was incredible and really took you back to circa AD Jerusalem, minus of course the grafitti…     Ricoh XR-P/Rikenon 50mm f1.7/Fuji Superior 100 […]

Ministry

Belgrade, Serbia, 2002:  The Yugoslav Ministry of Defence building in Belgrade was considered a masterpiece of post-war architecture. It was bombed along with many other “strategic” buildings in Belgrade and elsewhere in The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the 1999 Nato bombing campaign. Most of the major bridges across the Danube in Serbia were also targeted, […]

UXO

Belgrade, Serbia, 2002:  Found these unexploded missiles and bombs (UXO) whilst wandering around the grounds of the Kalemegdan fortress in Belgrade.  The Nato bombing of Kosovo and Serbia three years prior (March-June 1999) successfully forced the Yugoslav military to retreat from Kosovo, preventing another atrocity like Bosnia.   Canon EOS 100/28-105/Kodak Tri-X
